The Story

My passion for sailing and the sea has been the guiding force behind the inception of Race Ready Yacht Services. This journey is not just about a business; it's a tale of a lifetime spent on the waves, driven by a love for yachting and a commitment to excellence in marine services.

Early Inspirations

Growing up in North Vancouver, my weekends were synonymous with sailing. The thrill of racing and the serenity of the sea were my constant companions. As a youth, teaching sailing to both kids and adults, I found my calling on the water. My early experiences, from racing to hearing sailors’ complaints, laid the foundation for my future endeavours.

A Life Dedicated to Sailing

Over the last 15 years, sailing and racing have been at the core of my life. My technical skills were honed working as a marine rigger and an electrical technician for Zodiac Hurricane, mainly focusing on sailboats. These roles deepened my understanding of marine mechanics and the intricacies of yacht maintenance.

Recognizing a Need

Being an integral part of the Vancouver Yacht Racing scene, I noticed a gap in the market. Many racing boats were under performing due to inadequate bottom cleaning. My C&C 35 and years cruising the Gulf Islands and Sunshine Coast not only fuelled my love for the water but also highlighted the impact of hull condition on a vessel's efficiency.

Where to Start

Combining my passion for racing, extensive experience with top boats in the Vancouver area, and my skills as a qualified scuba diver, I started offering bottom cleaning services. What began as a side job quickly evolved into a full-time venture. There was a clear need for reliable, high-quality diving services in Vancouver.

Expanding Horizons

Thanks to my deep-rooted contacts in the yachting world, I began servicing a diverse range of motor and sailing vessels. My ambition is to establish Race Ready Yacht Services as one of the premier diving services in the region. With many in the industry aging out, the demand for dependable services is more crucial than ever.

Racing Highlights

My racing credentials include participating in prestigious events like the VanIsle 360 on 'Zulu' and 'Joyride', and being a part of the Zulu racing program out of Sydney, BC. These experiences have not only shaped my sailing expertise but also reinforced my understanding of a yacht’s performance needs.

The numerous complaints about unreliable diving services I encountered over the years motivated me to fill this void. My outgoing personality, combined with extensive knowledge in the field, has helped me build trust and a reputation for reliability among the sailing community.
